Location: Jackson CIVIC CENTER
Size: 23,000 SF
cost: $5,200,000
Construction commenced in October 2014 on the new community center. The space provides the Jackson, Missouri residents with meeting space, gathering space, exercise space, and a FEMA 361 safe room for protection during severe storms.
The 12,700 square foot FEMA safe room was constructed of 12-inch thick, integrally colored, insulated precast concrete panels. The room can hold 2000 people during a weather event, and also doubles as a competition gymnasium for basketball and volleyball during every-day use. A walking track is designed around the perimeter of the gymnasium.
