JACKSON R-II SCHOOL DISTRICT | LONG RANGE FACILITY PLAN
Location: jACKSON r-II School District
incite Design Studio worked with the Jackson R-II School District on facility assessments of all eleven schools in the district, as well as a long range master plan. The team of architects and engineers conducted thorough evaluations of the facilities and generated reports. Additional research included surveys and reports from administration and custodians. iDS also teamed with a demographer to identify which areas may see a growth or decline of students. This information helped compile a more complete picture of how each facility is being used, and the strengths and challenges within each building.
With the data collected and analyzed, iDS and the District created a vision for facility improvements. iDS assisted the District with a successful bond issue passage in April 2017, and are currently implementing the long range plan as presented. Projects include a new 3 story freshman center wing to the existing high school, substantial additions and renovations to two elementary schools, including a FEMA Safe Room, and an addition/renovation to the middle school. This project is currently in the Construction Administration phase, and is being constructed utilizing the Construction Management at Risk project delivery method. iDS assisted the District in creating the advertisement for bid for CMaR services, and is working closely with the contractor on this project.
