Lindenwood University hired iDS in early 2022 to design a new campus bookstore that will be located in the Spellmann Center – the University’s administrative center, cafeteria, and student union. While the current bookstore is located on the Lindenwood University Campus, relocating it to the Spellmann Center will make it more centralized and accessible to students as it is a high traffic area.

The project consists of a two-story renovation of the existing administration and foreign student admin and classrooms. The bookstore will be in a high-visibility area of the second and third floors of the four-story Spellmann Center. A large curtain wall system will separate the bookstore from the main corridor while still providing views into the new space. The second story will consist mostly of the retail and spirit shop, as well as the main point of sale counter. The third floor will be comprised of school supplies and university book sales, and will also have a dedicated room for all the back of house items such as book storage, stock items, a break room, and work area, and server.

This project was completed for the start of the 2023 Spring semester.
