PERRY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT | LONG RANGE FACILITY PLAN

Location: Perry County School District 32

The Perry County School District had not passed a bond issue in over 40 years until iDS stepped in to help pass a 35-cent tax increase at a 72% approval rating. The facilities were worn and at/over instructional capacity.

The new Perryville Primary Center was completed before the start of the 2019-2020 school year and holds 400 students in grades K-2. The elementary school is split into multiple phases, with the final phase wrapping up and will be completed in time for the 2021-2022 school year. The elementary school renovations will be the introduction to future ready learning environments for the elementary school.

The most recent project that iDS has taken on for the district is a FEMA Safe Room addition to the middle school to be completed within the next 2-3 years. The middle school FEMA safe room was completed in early 2021 and is a building filled with classrooms and collaboration areas.

“As we moved through the process of implementing that plan, iDS has been an integral part of seeing that vision become a reality for our community.  They have worked with our staff to create a plan that meets our current needs while being mindful of future needs as well.  Once the building projects started, their management of the process has been extremely helpful to the administration.  Essentially, they have continued to work with the owners to see the vision that was created with input becomes a reality, which means to me that they have as much invested in the project as the owner.” – Superintendent Andy Comstock.
