RAYMORE-PECULIAR SCHOOL DISTRICT | STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS

Location: Raymore-Peculiar R-II sCHOOL dISTRICT

Size: 8,400 SF

cost: $3,750,000

This much-needed project for the Ray-Pec School District consisted of three elements, the highlight of which is the new, 4,200 sf varsity locker room at the north end of the stadium. The new building contains lockers for 120 athletes, a large team meeting room, coach’s locker room, training room, and a 670 square foot storage mezzanine.

The second element is the renovation of the existing south home locker room which now provides two locker rooms for use by visitors, soccer, and track teams. The existing building was demolished to the existing wood framing, concrete slab, and roof. The renovated building also houses public rest rooms, new concessions, and an officials locker room. By saving the structural system of this building we were able to re-purpose a tired building slated for demolition and turned it into an integral part of the athletic facilities.

The final element consisted of replacing the natural grass field with synthetic turf, and replacing the running track with a new, rubberized surface. In addition to the running track, all new field event venues were designed. The project was constructed in two phases; Phase I consisted of the construction of the new varsity locker room and renovation of south locker room building. Phase I was completed prior to the 2008 school year, with the second phase commencing in November 2008.
