THE REEF AT COLUMBIA PARK | NEW CONSTRUCTION

Location: PARK HILLS, Missouri
Size: Pool: 6,438 sf, splash pad: 1,735 s, building: 2,275 sf
cost: $4,200,000
The City of Park Hills’s original aquatic center was built in 1958, and as a result of its age, was having significant issues with the pool and pool house, and did not meet today’s safety standards. The solution was to build a new pool and pool facility to replace the existing facility.
The design includes a pool house with an office, first aid guard shack, surveillance, outdoor speakers, night lighting, and a concession stand. Features include a zero-entry pool, spray features, a lazy river around Rory the Whale, lap lanes with sports equipment, and a 1,735-square-foot splash pad. Accessibility is ensured with an electronic lift chair, creating an inclusive and enjoyable aquatic experience for all.
With the new aquatic center came a new name: “The REEF at Columbia Park”. The name has significance to the community as it pays homage to the four towns – Rivermines, Elvins, Esther, and Flat River – whose union formed the City of Park Hills.
On May 25, 2024, over 700 patrons stood in line to enjoy the new aquatic park on opening day.
